Alien vs Predator watch order
Use this page for Alien vs Predator movies in order—the two theatrical crossover films only. Release follows US premiere dates so you can binge the same way theaters did: Alien vs. Predator (2004) then Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (2007). Story keeps that soft continuous lane—Requiem picks up after the Antarctic pyramid disaster—without pretending these films rewrite the main Alien or Predator canons. Full Ripley and Jungle Hunter catalogs stay on those pages; Prometheus, Covenant, and Romulus are not AvP titles. Essentials covers both films, first-film-only, and a quick Requiem-after-AvP checklist.
Pick your path:
Where to start
Pick Both crossovers for the full soft lane, 2004 only if you want the pyramid film without Requiem’s tone shift, or Requiem after AvP when you already know you will finish the duo in premiere order.
- Newcomers 2026 → watch 2004 before Requiem
- Canon-purists → treat AvP as optional pulp after Alien / Predator cores
- Skip Requiem if creature-feature chaos is not your goal
Release order
When each theatrical Alien vs. Predator crossover opened in the US—Alien vs. Predator (August 13, 2004) then Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem (December 25, 2007). Release is the practical binge path: watch 2004 first so Requiem’s scavenger Predators and Colorado outbreak still read as fallout, not a random monster mash.
- First crossover binge → Alien vs. Predator (2004) then Requiem (2007)
- Want Ripley or Dutch first → finish Alien / Predator pages before AvP pulp
- Skip Requiem if you only want the 2004 pyramid spectacle
- Games / comics → optional flavor; not required between the two films
Story order tips
Soft continuous crossover lane only: Antarctic pyramid hunt (AvP, 2004) → Earth-side scavenger cleanup and hybrid chaos (Requiem, 2007). This is not a full Alien chronology and not a Predator-film chronology—those live on the Alien movies and Predator movies pages. Treat AvP as its own pulp pocket that borrows creatures without owning the Ripley or Dutch timelines.
- Soft lane → 2004 AvP → Requiem (same crossover pocket)
- Do not insert Prometheus or Covenant between these titles
- Canon fights with main Alien/Predator films → see FAQ, not a third movie row
- On Story order, later entries may be hidden—reveal when ready or use Show all spoilers

Alien vs. Predator
TheatricalStreamingCrossoverLive-actionAlien vs. Predator (August 13, 2004) drops explorers into an Antarctic pyramid where Predators harvest xenomorphs—Paul W. S. Anderson’s creature-feature mashup that invents the theatrical AvP soft lane without becoming a Ripley or Dutch sequel.
- Overview
- Big-screen Predator-vs-xenomorph spectacle with human explorers as the fragile middle species. Practical creature craft and pyramid-ritual mythology sell the crossover as pulp adventure rather than a Ripley chapter.
- Related games
- Opens the AvP soft lane. Story continues into Requiem; it does not sit inside the main Ripley calendar on the Alien page or the jungle-hunter chronology on Predator.
- Where it fits
- Required start on this page. Watch before Requiem. Optional if you only want pure Alien or Predator canons—skip freely once you accept those pages cover the franchise cores.
- Premiere dates
- US theatrical release August 13, 2004 (20th Century Fox).

Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem
TheatricalStreamingCrossoverLive-actionSequelAliens vs. Predator: Requiem (December 25, 2007) follows scavenger Predators and a Predalien outbreak into a Colorado town—darker, gorier soft sequel to the 2004 pyramid film, and the last theatrical AvP chapter on this list.
- Overview
- Shifts AvP from Antarctic adventure pulp into small-town siege horror with a Predalien catalyst. The Brothers Strause lean into creature mayhem over the first film’s ritual-temple structure.
- Related games
- Soft continuous sequel after Alien vs. Predator (2004). End of the theatrical crossover lane as of 2026—no third AvP film sits on this page.
- Where it fits
- Watch after 2004 AvP for the soft lane. Skip if you only wanted the pyramid film’s tone. Never required before mainline Alien or Predator titles on their own pages.
- Premiere dates
- US theatrical release December 25, 2007 (20th Century Fox).

Canon & franchises
Treat theatrical AvP as a soft continuity pocket. Creature designs and Predator lore borrow from both franchises, but later mainline Alien and Predator films often ignore or contradict AvP dates, characters, and Earth events. Fans disagree; this page does not force a single studio bible. Watch AvP for crossover spectacle, then return to Alien / Predator pages for their preferred canons.
They do not belong on this AvP list. Prometheus and Alien: Covenant are Alien-franchise prequels about Engineers and David—see the Alien movies Story tab. Watching them between AvP and Requiem creates a false crossover bridge that the films never claim.
