FAQ
Release vs story order, Miles Morales placement, Remastered, DLC, and other Spider-Man games.
Release order
Release order is when each Insomniac Marvel's Spider-Man game launched in the US (2018–2023)—including Miles Morales and Remastered. Story order is Peter → Miles → Spider-Man 2. Remastered retells the 2018 game. Other Spider-Man titles (Web of Shadows, Insomniac's older games, movies) stay off this page.
Recommended: Marvel's Spider-Man Remastered → Miles Morales → Marvel's Spider-Man 2. You do not need the 2018 PS4 disc if you own Remastered. Do not start with Spider-Man 2.
Story & Miles
Miles Morales (2020) is a full mainline game set after Marvel's Spider-Man and before Spider-Man 2. It is shorter than the numbered entries but required for Insomniac continuity—treat it as chapter 1.5, not optional DLC.
Remasters & editions
Remastered (PS5 2020 / PC 2022) retells the 2018 campaign with upgraded presentation and includes The City That Never Sleeps story pack. For most players it replaces the PS4 original. Play the story pack after the base Remastered campaign and before Miles when you can. This page keeps the 2018 row for Release history.
Optional & related
This timeline covers Insomniac's Marvel's Spider-Man continuity only. Older Spider-Man games, Ultimate Alliance, and film adaptations are out of scope—different canons. Play those separately if you want, but they do not change Remastered → Miles → Spider-Man 2.
