That single Tokyo Drift move is the whole chronological puzzle.

Timelines

Fast and Furious 6 ends with a mid-credits scene showing Deckard Shaw causing the crash that kills Han in Tokyo Drift. That reframes Tokyo Drift as happening after Fast Six (and after Gisele’s arc), even though it premiered in 2006. Release order keeps 2006; Story order slides it later.

Not required for Dom’s main plot. It is a buddy spin-off for Hobbs and Deckard Shaw. This page still lists it because “Fast and Furious movies in order” searches usually expect every theatrical title. Soft-skip on a Dom/Brian-only binge; keep it for franchise completionists.

What’s included

Universal has discussed a saga finale (often called Fast X Part 2 or later branded titles) with a target window around 2027–2028, but dates shift. Until a firm US theatrical date sticks, it stays FAQ-only—not a Release-tab row. Recheck this page after the next official lock.
